Bit Error Rate Reduction in DWT-OFDM Systems using a Novel Error Correction Scheme
Abstract: Proposed Error Correction scheme has been implemented on Discrete Wavelet Transform based Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (DWT-OFDM) system using simulations by MATLAB. The Bit Error Rate (BER) performance of the proposed system has been studied in terms of signal to noise ratio (Eb/No). The proposed system has been examined under Additive White Gaussian Noise Channel (AWGN), and it has been compared with the ½ rate convolution encoded DWT-OFDM. Further, the …

Abstract: Excess acoustical parameters such as excess ultrasonic velocity (UE), excess acoustic impedance (ZE), excess Molar Volume (VmE), excess free length (LfE) and excess adiabatic compressibility (bE) have been discussed between the component molecules in terms of their intermolecular interactions of the binary liquid mixture containing Aniline with Toluene from temperatures T = 303.15 to 318.15 K. These excess parameters have been calculated from the values of densities (r), ultrasonic velocities …

Transient Stability Comparison for an Integrated Power System Using Statcom and SVC
Abstract: Transient stability control plays a significant role in maintaining the stable operation of power systems in case of large disturbances and faults. This paper compares the role of Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM) and Static Var Compensator (SVC) in mitigating the fault and establishing transient stability in a 9 MW integrated wind farm power plant. SVC and STATCOM are FACTS (Flexible Alternating Current Transmission System) devices used for efficient power flow …

Review on Frequency Fluctuation Control in Wind Energy Generation System
Abstract: Frequency fluctuation is one of the major apprehensions for transmission system and power grid operation due to their hostile effects on industrial control system. As there is massive amalgamation of wind power and the power grid, a threat of inefficient and irregular power transmission due to randomly varying wind power remains as a challenge to overcome. For the same reason, in this paper, the minimization of the frequency fluctuation of …

An Insight into Sub Storm Dynamics of Magnetosphere and its Effects on H Component of The Earth
Abstract: Geomagnetic storms, substorms and their impacts on the magnitude of H component of earth were studied during the event of August, October and November, 2003. For this, a high level fluxgate digital magnetometer was used to record and analyze this event at southern subauroral localized region (Geomagnetic latitude 62ºS and longitude 52.8ºE) at ‘MAITRI’ station. Our findings show that the time magnitude of H component of earth before commencement of …

Higher Ordered Resonant Periodic Orbits in Perturbed Sun-Mars System
Abstract: In this paper, we have studied interior resonant orbits of higher order in the framework of photo–gravitational restricted three-body problem. The seventh, ninth and eleventh order interior resonant periodic orbits are analyzed for Sun-Mars system. The location, eccentricity and period of resonant orbits are investigated in the perturbed case for a given value of Jacobi constant C. It is observed that for a given order of resonance, a period of …

Existence of Tachyons and their Detection
Abstract: It is felt by many that faster-than-light particles (tachyons) exist though none has been detected so far; this lack of evidence raises some doubt as to whether such particles exist. However, it may not be possible to detect these faster-than-light particles even if they exist. Is there any possibility at all in detecting these particles, if they exist? This paper ponders the existence of tachyons and introduces some possibilities for …

Seasonal Assessment of Radon, Thoron and their Progeny levels in the Dwellings near the Fly Ash Dumping Site situated in Faridabad (Haryana), India
Abstract: In order to meet the growing demand forof electricity, coal- based thermal power plants are widely used all over the world. These thermal power plants produce a huge amount of fly ash as a by- product of coal combustion. The disposal and management of this ash become a challenging problem for the environmentalist and scientist. Coal ash contains an enhanced level of radionuclides along with some other elements, that are …

A Review on the Improvement of Power Quality of Renewable Energy Sources Based Power Systems
Abstract: With increasing energy demands and constant depletion of conventional energy sources, importance of renewable energy sources has increased. It has become important to expand the use of renewable energy resources. The major challenges before renewable resources are that they produce voltage and frequency fluctuations and harmonic pollutants are introduced in them, and they decrease the overall performance or efficiency of the energy resources. This study reviews about all the issues …

Dust Acoustic Solitary Waves in a Five Component Plasma-Application to Comets
Abstract: We have studied the characteristics of the Dust Acoustic Solitary Wave (DASW) in a five component cometary plasma composed of two components of electrons (one hotter and one colder), hydrogen ions and a pair of oppositely charged dust particles (heavier ions). The Korteweg – deVries wave equation has been derived for the system and its solitary wave solution obtained. The dust acoustic solitary wave amplitude is almost a constant with …

Deductive Group Method for Heat Transfer of Gas Laminar Forced Convection Flow with Variable Physical Property
Abstract: The deductive group transformation technique is applied to derive invariant solutions for laminar forced convection flow having variable physical property. The one-parameter deductive group transformation reduces the number of independent variables by one and hence governing partial differential equation is reduced to ordinary differential equation with appropriate boundary condition. Resulting ordinary differential equation is solved using mathematical software and the results are graphically presented. From the graph, it is observed …

Group Technique for Boundary Layer Equations of Time-Dependent Power-Law Fluids Over Non-Isothermal Surface
Abstract: The multi-parameter group technique is developed to derive invariant solution for the system of non-linear partial differential equations governing unsteady, two-dimensional boundary layer flows over a heated surface of power-law fluids. The basic non-liner system of partial differential equations with three independent variables is converted into system of non-linear ordinary differential equation, by single application using proposed multiparameter group method. The numerical solution for the system of nonlinear ordinary differential …

Abstract: Time fractional partial differential equations governing the free convective flow of an incompressible viscous fluid over vertical plate with Newtonian heating and mass diffusion in the presence of first order chemical reaction are derived by using fractional complex transforms. The dimensionless temperature, concentration and velocity field and the rate of heat and mass transfer from the plate to the field are determined using Laplace transform. The similarly solution for ordinary …

Abstract: Single crystals of undoped ammonium dihydrogen phosphate (ADP) and strontium chloride doped ammonium dihydrogen phosphate were grown by a solution method. It is found that SCADP crystal belongs to the tetragonal crystal system with I-42d space group. It is seen that both undoped and strontium chloride doped ADP crystals crystallize in the same tetragonal system and the incorporation of dopant does not alter the crystal system. This is due to …
