Distribution and Prevalence of P. falciparum and P. vivax in and Around Tepi Town in the Year 2003 and 2004 E.C.
Abstract: Malaria is caused from infection by the protozoa of plasmodium. It is one of the serious diseases. There are four species of plasmodium infecting humans; these are Plasmodium falciparum, Plasmodium vivax, Plasmodium ovale, and Plasmodium malaria. The main point of the study of malaria tosses the distribution and prevalence of P. falciparum and P. vivax species in and around Tepi town in the year 2003 and 2004 E.C. The secondary …

Microorganism Communities Response of Ecological Changes in Post Tin Mining Ponds
Abstract: The ecological changes are the main problem of post tin mining activities, such as post tin mining ponds and it has occurred for a long time chronosequence. The understanding of how post tin mining activities bring ecological changes and how the microorganism communities respond to these environment changes becomes an important part to explore the potential of bioremediator to accelerate the recovery of water quality as water sources for secondary …

Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA) and Its Different Testing Methods: A Review
Abstract: Staphylococcus aureus, a gram-positive bacterium is a serious current health care concern. In the mid-1980s, S. aureus strains emerged that were resistant to the beta-lactamase-stable penicillin, these strains were termed methicillin resistant S. aureus (MRSA). Methicillin resistance in S. aureus is primarily mediated by the mecA gene, which codes for the modified penicillin-binding protein 2a. MRSA strain has become one of the well-known etiologic agents for a wide variety of …

Study of Microbial Distribution from Different Processing Stages in Purified Water Production Plant of Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Facility
Abstract: Abstract Treatment plants for production of pharmaceutical water are composed of successive processing stages. Microbial excursions may occur at any level(s) and in different occasions. Thorough analysis is required to be useful in investigation for any out-of-control state to identify the root cause. The current study provided long term inspection of microbial profile for over 41 months from different processing steps of water treatment station for purified water. Apparently low …

Assessment of the effectiveness of PMTCT (Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission) to Children Born from HIV-1 positive Mothers
Abstract: Mother-to child transmission (MTCT) of HIV is one of the biggest challenges of the HIV/AIDS pandemic especially in resource constrained settings. Africa has the highest burden of the disease accounting for about 90% of pediatric HIV infections. Approximately 370,000 children became infected with HIV globally; most of these infections occurred through mother-to-child transmission. PMTCT (prevention of mother to child transmission) service reduces the risk of this transmission. In the absence …
