Changes of Super Oxide Dismutase Activity in Hemolymph, Hemocytes and Fat Body of Silkworm (Bombyx mori L.) Challenged by Micrococcus luteus and Escherichia coli
Abstract: The hemolymph, hemocytes and fat body of the silkworm, Bombyx mori L. were determined for superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity following bacteria Micrococcus luteus and Escherichia coli challenged using a photochemical assay system consisting of methionine, riboflavin, and p-nitro blue tetrazolium. The in vitro reduction of nitro blue tetrazolium by superoxide to formazan was measured spectrophotometrically in Bombyx Mori. Hemolymph, hemocytes and fat body were in response to various immune elicitors. …

Evolution: Boosters, Drivers and plausible Models
Abstract: Evolution has often been interpreted as the positive natural selection, paving the path for adaptive improvement in biological genetic information. Evolution yielding functionally adapted protein molecules is much more complex than DNA. Constraints mediating the rate, path and altered convergence of functionally evolved proteins are justified to elaborate their functional role in evolution. All additional stress factors as per the constrained micro-environment imposed on a cell system delineate the evolutionary …

Ground Based Study of the Effect of Open and Close Chamber Condition on Banana Ripening Process
Abstract: Normal 0 false false false IN X-NONE X-NONE Level of O2 and CO2 plays an important role on ethylene biosynthesis during ripening of the climacteric fruit. Low level of O2 and high level of CO2 will affect ACS and ACO enzyme activities and will impede ethylene production. Thus, reduce ethylene level will eventually delay fruit ripening process. Pre-climacteric banana fruits (Musa sp.) were chosen based on ripening level, size, shape, …

Screening of the Nutrient Parameters for Protease Production by Bacillus cereus Using Plackett-Burman Design under Submerged Fermentation
Abstract: Plackett-Burman experimental design was used to screen important nutrient parameters influencing the production of protease by Bacillus cereus, which was isolated from fish waste soil. The Plackett-Burman design is orthogonal in nature and it is a set of small and efficient experiments, which are very powerful in biotechnology research and development. Screening of 11 factors was done in 12 experiments. The 11 factors included one process parameter (initial pH of …
