Demonstration of Tied Ridges and Plantings Method on Soil Moisture and Grain Yield of Maize in Dry Land Area of Sankura Woreda, SNNPR, Ethiopia
Abstract: Tied ridging is a useful technique, especially on terrain with slopes of 3% to 4% or less. On steeper slopes, adding terrace can increase crop yields by prolonging the time it takes for water to percolate into the soil. Purpose of the study was to show the effects of the open end linked ridges with furrow planting technique on the soil's moisture content and the grain production of the maize …

Principal Component Analysis of Black and Brown Seeded Soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr.) Genotypes at Jimma and Bonga Southwestern Ethiopia
Abstract: Sixty-four soybean genotypes were evaluated for cluster analysis based on their morphological characters. The field experiment was carried out at Jimma and Bonga in south-western Ethiopia during the main cropping season of 2019. The experimental study was laid with simple lattice design with two replications. Data on 11 quantitative agronomic traits were gathered. For all of the examined variables, analysis of variance revealed substantial to very significant variations among genotypes. …

Participatory Evaluation and Demonstration of Selected Sweet Potato (Ipomoea batatas L.) Varieties in the West Omo Zone, Southwest Ethiopia
Abstract: In Ethiopia, sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas L.) is the second most important root crop after enset, and it is a good source of potassium, vitamins, carbohydrates, dietary fibers, and other essential nutrients. To meet the increasing demand for sweet potatoes, different white and orange-flesh sweet potato varieties have been introduced and evaluated in the southwest region of the country by crop researchersat the Bonga Agricultural Research Center. Accordingly, based on …

Evaluating improved Irish Potato varieties for the yield and agronomic traits in Southwest region of Ethiopia.
Abstract: Despite making substantial contributions to food security, revenue production, the provision of food energy, and the preservation of the resource base, the food potential of horticulture crops, particularly that of root and tuber crops, has not yet been fully tapped and utilized. In order to determine the optimal high yielding, pest and disease resistant/tolerant variety(ies) for the target area, the experiment was conducted to test the adaptability of enhanced potato …
