In vitro Axillary Bud Proliferation and Direct Organogenesis of Aristolochia tagala cham.: A Rare Medicinal Plant
Abstract: AbstractAn efficient protocol for axillary bud proliferation and direct organogenesis has been developed in Aristolochia tagala Cham. through in vitro propagation technique. Nodal segments and shoot tips were cultured on Murashige and Skoog’s media (MS media) supplemented with various concentrations of growth hormones. MS media fortified with BAP 1 mg/L and half-strength MS media with IBA 2 mg/L were found to be the best for inducing shoots and roots respectively. Keywords: …

Study of Diatom Flora in Geothermal Springs of Bakreswar, West Bengal, India
Abstract: AbstractGeothermal springs are mostly formed due to tectonic movements of the earth or volcanic eruptions leading to the release of hot water in the form of artesian wells. The environment is very suitable for the growth of thermophilic Cyanobacteria. Nevertheless, some members ofBacillariophyceae (diatoms) are also found in such geothermal springs, although, very high water temperature and alkaline water is generally not very conducive for diatom growth. The present study …
