Cadmium-induced Lipid Peroxidation and DNA Damage in Sorghum Bicolor Seedlings
Abstract: AbstractThe effect of cadmium (Cd) on lipid peroxidation and DNA damage was studied in a variety of SP18008 Sorghum bicolor seedlings which were exposed to different concentrations of Cd (0, 25, 50, 75 and 100 μmol/L) heavy metal for two weeks. After two weeks of Cd treatment, Lipid peroxidation was increased in the form of MDA content along with increased concentration of Cd whereas increased DNA damage was also observed …

Effect of NaCl Stress on Pigment and Biochemical Changes in Cyamopsistetragonoloba (L) Taub (var. Pusa Naubahar)
Abstract: AbstractIn this study, effect of salinity on biochemical parameters in Cyamopsis tetragonoloba (L) Taub was studied. Plants were grown for 14 days in the controlled growth room. Pigments and biochemicals were extracted from leaves of control and NaCl-treated plants after seventh and 14th days of treatment. NaCl solutions at different osmotic potentials (0, 50, 100, and 150 mM) prepared by adding varying amounts of NaCl to the main culture solution …

Comparison of Reproductive Biology, Pollinator Resource, Reproductive Success and Natural Recruitment of Three Mangrove Species in Gulf of Kachchh, Gujarat, India
Abstract: AbstractPollination ecology of mangroves has been explored at very few habitats. In India, this field is in its early stage. The present work has compared reproductive phenology, pollinator resources and status of natural recruitment (which is reflection of health of any population) of three mangrove species, i.e., Aegiceras corniculatum, Ceriops tagal and Rhizophora mucronata in the Marine National Park and Sanctuary, Gulf of Kachchh, Jamnagar, Gujarat, India. For each mangrove …

Distribution Pattern, Population Density, Phenological Episodes and Morphometric Analysis of Salix babylonica
Abstract: AbstractThe present study was carried out in different areas of Kashmir Himalaya. Quantitative analyses were done for the following parameters, viz., distribution, morphology and phenology. Present research findings revealed that Srinagar has the highest population density followed by Badgam, Baramulla, Shopian, and least was found in Anantnag and Ganderbal. Its sap normally begins to flow in late February while leaves begin to expand at the beginning of March. Flowering starts …
