Evaluation of Pharmacopoeial and Quality Control Standards of Nelumbo nucifera Gaertn. Seeds
Abstract: ABSTRACTThe seeds of the plant Nelumbo nucifera Gaertn. (Fam: Nymphaeceae) are used against the ailments of poor digestion, enteritis, chronic diarrhea, insomnia and palpitation. In view of its medicinal importance, the present study was conducted to standardize the drug using pharmacognostical, physico-chemical and WHO methods. Pharmacognostical Studies on Commercial Drug Samples of Adhatoda zeylanica Medicus
Abstract: ABSTRACTThe present study was carried out with the objective to determine the quality of commercial samples of Adhatoda zeylanica Medicus collected from Delhi, Haridwar and Cochin/Trichur. Life-forms and Biological Spectrum of a Dry Deciduous Forest in Gadag District, Karnataka, India
Abstract: ABSTRACTThe present paper deals with the different life form categories and biological spectrum of a forest in Gadag district, Karnataka. The Gadag flora recorded 667 wild species belonging to 430 genera in 108 families. Biological spectrum of the present study shows that Therophytes (45%) were the most dominating life-form, followed by Phanerophytes (29%), Hemicryptophytes (13%), Chamaephytes (12%) and Cryptophytes (1%).
