Antimicrobial Activity of Actinomycetes Isolated from Garden Soil and Role of Various Antibiotics in Promoting Its Growth
Abstract: AbstractActinomycetes are a group of Gram-positive, sporulating, bacteria which exhibit mycelia branching during growth. These are common inhabitants of soil. They provide many important bioactive compounds which are of high commercial value. However, antibiotics are predominately produced. In the present study, actinomycetes was isolated from garden soil and its growth was tested in different media such as Kustners media, actinomycetes isolation agar, yeast extract agar and Kenknights agar. The culture …

Bio-efficacy Study of Lambda-cyhalothrin EW Formulation against Cnaphalocrocis medinalis on Rice: A Safer and Effective Approach
Abstract: AbstractA field trial was conducted to evaluate Lambda-cyhalothrin new formulation emulsion-in-water (EW), which indicated that Lambda-cyhalothrin applied at 15 g a.i. ha−1 was more effective against rice leaf folder (Cnaphalocrocis medinalis) as compared to the standard checks. In terms of cumulative reduction of pest incidence, Lambda-cyhalothrin treatments were found to be superior to the standard checks. Lambda-cyhalothrin 11.4% EW was identified as a superior formulation with respect to environmental hazards. …
