Nonlinear Semiconductor Device Modeling using Neural Networks
Abstract: This paper describes the nonlinear semiconductor (transistor) of small and large signal modeling using a single neural network. Multilayer perceptron (MLP) with back-propagation (BP) learning is adopted in this work to model the drain current (ID) and the transconductance (gm) of the transistor. MLP modeling performance in terms of mean square error (MSE) and complexity of the network are illustrated briefly. Artificial neural network (ANN) model outcome for nonlinear function …

Performance Analysis and Characterization of Shared Charge and Clocked-Latch based Comparator using 90-nm Technology
Abstract: Paper describes the performance analysis, implementation and characterization of low-power and high-speed shared charge clocked-latch based comparator using 90-nm technology. There are two different topologies of the comparator viz. impedance dividing and differential current sensing comparators are combined to take the advantages and use their good features. The main focus of design is on improvement in speed by sharing charge and reduction in power dissipation. The topology is implemented in …

A Low Power Variable Gain Amplifier for Biomedical Application
Abstract: This paper describes the design and simulation of low power variable gain amplifier used for biomedical application like hearing aid, Electronic Cardiograph and neural recording system. The MOS transistor is designed to operate in subthreshold region for low power application. The gain of amplifier is changed by selecting different values of input capacitor in the frequency range of 20 Hz–20 KHz. The simulated total power dissipation is 3µW. The gain …
