Current status of reinforced thermal spray coatings to increase corrosion resistance of boiler tube steels
Abstract: AbstractThermal barrier coatings are one of the best techniques to protect the metal surface from erosion corrosion attach. Aluminium and nickel based alloys are extensively used as thermal barrier coated materials with various techniques such as HVOF, APS etc. The techniques for applying the coatings gain their importance in thermal spray which results to get a layer deposited without affecting the properties of substrate material. Thermal spray coatings have been …

Processing of Magnesium Metal Matrix Composite Reinforced with Graphene Nano Platelets through Vacuum Stir Casting and Investigating its Mechanical Behaviour
Abstract: AbstractThe application of metal matrix composites (MMCs) as structural engineering materials has received increasing attention in recent years. Their high strength and toughness at elevated temperatures coupled with low-density makes them suitable for use in applications where conventional engineering materials, such as steel are used. MMCs exhibit significantly higher stiffness and mechanical strength compared to matrix alloys, but often suffer from lower ductility and interior fracture toughness. MMCs have the …

Studies on the Electrical Characteristics of AlGaAs/GaAs High Electron Mobility Transistors
Abstract: AbstractIn this work, total 5722 individual simulation outputs are reported. The effects of drain voltage, gate voltage, aluminium mole fraction, and gate length on drain current are studied in AlGaAs/GaAs high electron mobility transistors (HEMTs). The linear region and saturation region are prominent in each drain characteristic curve. The drain current reduces in the structure of larger gate length. This work is useful to fabricate the HEMT based biomedical sensors. …

Effect of Process Parameters on TIG Weld-Brazing of Aluminum Alloy to Galvanized Steel
Abstract: AbstractAbility to join aluminum alloy to steel enables weight reduction of automobile bodies. Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) process was employed to weld-braze A8011-H14 aluminum alloy to galvanized steel in lap configuration. The influence of heat input on bead formation and joint strength was investigated. The microstructural characterization was carried out using an optical microscope and scanning electron microscope. The chemical composition was analyzed using energy dispersive spectroscopy technique. The …
