Determination of the optimum conditions for salt bath ferritic Nitrocarburizing process of AISI 1018 Steel using ANOVA method.
Abstract: Industrial modern machinery components such as gears, bolts and shafts are always subjected to continuous frictional wear. From decades' surface treatments are performed to enhance the tribological properties of these components, however use of toxic cyanide salts in the techniques like Nitrocarburizing is a threat to environment. Therefore, another non-toxic surface modification process Sursulf Nitrocarburizing is investigated on AISI 1018 low carbon steel and results were analyzed and optimized using …

Thin fluoropolymer coating on cotton textile to achieve hydrophobicity
Abstract: We report a simple novel procedure to prepare hydrophobic cotton textiles by admicellar polymerization on the cotton surface. By in situ introducing fluoropolymer on cotton fibers to generate a dual-size surface roughness, followed by hydrophobization with a little amount of fluoromonomer Octafluoropentamethyl methacrylate (OFPM) with short time, normally hydrophilic cotton has been easily turned in to hydrophobic. Hydrophobic cotton textile exhibits a static water contact angle of 135° for a …

Analysis and Improvement in Tribological Properties of Coated HSS Tool
Abstract: The use of low friction coatings like TiAlN and AlCrN is to improve the tribological properties of tools for metal cutting, forming and machine elements. It is strong scientific interest to conduct fundamental tribological research on the materials that exhibits low friction and can be used for surface coating on surfaces to rub against with reduced friction and wear. Parameters influence the quality of the products in turning process. The …

Review on Approach to systematic Biomimetic Part Design for Additive Manufacturing
Abstract: For a serial production of complex mechanical components an industry relevant technology known as Additive manufacturing (AM) is a broad concept. For a product optimization with these complex components principle of biomimetic ensures innovative product. The additive manufacturing has potential on a systematic and economic design base. To overcome on an unsystematic design, a cost intensive and long term trial and error part design optimization, an additive manufacturing provides a …

Parameteric Equation Development for Cutting Cost vs Depth of Cut for Multi Blade Granite Block Cutting Machine
Abstract: The stone processing industry has a very huge market in world. There is only three basic need of a human i.e. food, clothes and shelter, where stone covers big part of shelter, hence the requirement is also high. Basically most of the stone processing industries in India are small scale industry. The basic detail about the stone cutting machine is discussed and along with that parametric equation for relation between …
