A Review Study of Various Type of Bracing Systems Used For Strengthening Structures in Seismically Activated Areas
Abstract: The greatest challenge for structural engineers is to design the structures to be earthquake resistant. Basically the earthquake resistant design of reinforced concrete structures is a force based design. The forces which are considered in this intuitive philosophy of design are the inertia forces which are attracted towards the structure due to the structural configuration provided. These forces are to be resisted by the structure. One of the methods to …

Castellated Beams with and without Stiffeners- A Review
Abstract: Use of castellated beams has it benefits like it is economical, gives more strength with less material, easy to erect. Studies related to castellated beam show that quantifiable reduction in the weight of structure is accomplished by allowing web openings without reducing structural strength or requirements of serviceability. Castellated beams are fabricated by cutting I section in zig zag pattern to create shapes like hexagonal, circular, rectangular and re-joining it …

Experimental Study of Flexural Behavior of High Strength Concrete
Abstract: Flexural test results generated on nine reinforced concrete beams to evaluate the implications of using high-strength concrete (HSC) are reported. The stress block parameters on the current IS456-2000 code are limited to concrete strength up to 55 MPa. This paper looks at the applicability of IS456-2000 stress block parameters for HSC beyond the scope of code IS456-2000. Particular emphasis has been given to the issues of maximum compressive strain, ultimate …

Prediction of Punching Shear Capacity of Biaxial Voided Slab
Abstract: Biaxial voided slab systems are advantageous due to their reduced self-weight, up to 50 % in comparison with the conventional reinforced concrete solid slab. The reduction in the concrete cross sectional area reduces the shear capacity up to about 40 %. The prediction of punching shear capacity in voided slab is not direct unlike in solid slab. This is because the presence of voids alters the critical failure section and …

SEISMIC ANALYSIS OF G+10 BUILDING WITH DIFFERENT TYPES OF BRACING BY USING ETABs SOFTWARE
Abstract: In general the most suitable choices in improvement of steel frame against lateral loading is used steel bracing system. In this study, the seismic analysis of steel buildings with different types of bracings is studied. The bracing system used are X-bracings, V-bracings, ZX-bracings and inverted V-bracings compared with moment resisting frame. The bracings are provided along wall. The building is modeled and analyzed using ETABs software for 11 storey (G …

Comparative Study of RCC, Steel and Composite Structures by Using ETABS Software
Abstract: Building constructions by composite material in the current era very popular because of their vantage over conventional concrete and steel construction. It is noted that R.C.C buildings are being relatively large in size and give relatively less deflection and more seismic weight, whereas steel building instruct more ductility and deflection to the structure, Which is enhancing well-being in resisting earthquake forces. In this thesis Comparative Study of R.C.C., Steel and …

Analysis of Two way Continuous Bridge under Moving Loads
Abstract: The analysis of dynamic behavior of bridge structures that are subjected to moving loads has been one of the research interests in recent years. Specifically in railway bridges, Resonance occurs when the load frequency is equal to a multiple of natural frequency of the structure. Resonance vibrations have been observed in railway bridges especially subjected to High Speed Lines. They are caused mainly because of two reasons one is the …
