A Study on Spatio-temporal Variation in Ambient Temperatures over Parts of Andhra Pradesh, India
Abstract: Climate change is one of the irreversible phenomena human beings ever faced in recent past. Hydro-meteorological variables provide efficient information to study the climate patterns over any region. This paper aims on narrowing down the areas which need immediate attention since high temperatures were recorded over them. This part of the study showed that hotspots analysis and cluster and outlier analysis are quintessential for policy makers to understand the higher-risk …

Conservation Prioritization using Multi-criteria Decision Model: A Case Study in Part of Western Himalayan Ecoregion
Abstract: Vegetation and land use map was prepared using the satellite image of IRS-1D LISS III sensor. Four vegetation types were mapped, viz., temperate broadleaf forest, temperate conifer forest, pine forest and degraded forest. Different forest types were characterized for conservation prioritization based on parameters obtained through field sampling and landscape analysis. These parameters were (i) species diversity, (ii) mosaic diversity, (iii) total plant value, and (iv) contagion. The areas of …

TIN Model of Water Reservoir Bottom and Assessment of Model Accuracy
Abstract: Natural and anthropogenic processes are causing changes in topography of water reservoir bed. These changes are connected to the income and outcome of the sediment to the water reservoir, so the water depth and total reservoir volume changes too. Knowledge of topography of the water reservoir bed and its changes can be useful for calculation of total actual amount of the sediment, for calculation of the actual volume of water …

Anthropogenic Land Use Change Detection in a Kashmir Himalayan Watershed – A Remote Sensing and GIS Approach
Abstract: Watersheds are ubiquitous units that can be seen as the physical foundation of the nation. They have long been recognized as desirable units for planning and implementing developmental programs. Human impact on the watersheds is increasing day by day. The alteration of land use pattern in the Himalayan watersheds is increasing the vulnerability of these inherently fragile ecosystems. The present study is conducted in a Himalayan watershed of Lidder catchment …

Land Use/Land Cover Information at Various Scales of Remote Sensing Data of Jhunjhunu District, Rajasthan
Abstract: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Through the present study, variation in land use, land cover (LULC) with change in scale is discussed. The authors carried out the visual interpretation with the aid of supervised classification, aiming to obtain LULC information at various levels of remote sensing data of district Jhunjhunu of Rajasthan. Remote sensing data of IRS-P6 (LISS-III) standard false color composites (FCCs) on 1:1 M, …

Study on Land Use/Land Cover Change Dynamics through Remote Sensing and GIS – A Case Study of Kamrup District, North East India
Abstract: The study describes the land use and land cover dynamics in Kamrup district of Assam from 1991 to 2011 using remote sensing and Geographical Information System (GIS). Satellite remote sensing and GIS acts as an effective approach for analyzing the direction, rate and spatial pattern of land use dynamics. Landsat-TM and ETM+ for the period 1991, 2001 and 2011 were used to prepare the land use/land cover (LULC) map for …
