Study of Performance Characteristics of a Natural Refrigeration System [MD242]
Abstract: Natural refrigeration system utilizes solar energy and wind energy to develop the refrigeration effect in the required storage space. The system is constructed with completely natural materials leading to bio degradability, recyclability and eco friendliness. In this work, the performance characteristics of a natural refrigeration system are studied. It was observed that the system maintained the storage area at considerably lower temperature than that of the surroundings and it could …

COMBUSTION OPTIMIZATION OF 75 HP AGRICULTURAL TRACTOR DIESEL ENGINE TO MEET THE BHARAT STAGE (TREM) III A EMISSION NORMS
Abstract: Major challenged faced by most of the engine manufacturers with improving performance of heavy duty diesel vehicles is to meet the stringent exhaust emission norms, with least modification in design. Heavy duty diesel engines have been recently equipped with various electronically controlled components, such as turbocharger, fuel injection pump (FIP), exhaust gas recirculation (EGR), etc. Simplicity of design is to be maintained by optimizing the available emission control technique in …

Design and Development of Compact Humidifiers for Bench-top Chambers
Abstract: All products which are used in daily life have to serve in different climatic condition globally such as temperature, rain, humidity, etc. Hence, the products have to be tested under these conditions with the help of climatic chambers. There is a demand for a smaller version of climatic chambers called as bench-top chambers. Bench-top chambers require a compact humidifier, which can work on all humidity requirements set by the user. …

Refrigerant and the Environment- issues and planning for the future-A study
Abstract: Abstract However, the halogenated refrigerants have undesirable environmental impacts such as ozone layer depletion potential and global warming. Hence, it is necessary to go for alternative refrigerants to satisfy the objectives of the international protocols. Future international commitments on the protection of the environment, particularly for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and better protection of the ozone layer by use of other suitably refrigerants. In this context, the use of "natural" …

Analyses of a Typical Combined Cycle Power Plant using Different Working Fluids
Abstract: A complete first and second law analyses are applied to a typical combined cycle power plant using different working fluids in the bottoming Rankine cycle. The working fluids were chosen from the literature. Out of all the working fluids chosen, steam gave maximum first-law efficiency, second-law efficiency, and net work done and minimum exergy destruction for entire combined cycle power plant.
