Development of Refractory Synthesized from Waste Ceramic Fiber and Chamotte
Abstract: Research on refractory materials is always essential in thermal engineering to ensure both heat savings and environmental protection. Raw materials used initially have a great influence on the production process and product properties. In addition, the refractory products are tested under conditions of high temperature and varying intensity, such as tests of thermal shock resistance. In this study, new refractory composites were prepared by mixing waste ceramic fibers with chamotte …

Improving Photocatalytic and Antibacterial Properties of Zein/Polyvinyl Alcohol Polymer Composite Film by Dispersing TiO2 Nano Particles
Abstract: Zein/polyvinyl alcohol/nano-TiO2 composite film was effectively blended using a solution casting method. Mechanical, photocatalytic, and antibacterial properties of the composite film were evaluated. The breaking elongation of the composite film increased up to the maximum loading of 0.4% of nano-TiO2. The humidity and moisture content relationship was estimated with standard modified models of Halsey, Oswin, Chung Pfost, and Henderson. It was found that the Halsey model was the most suitable …

Novel Porous Refractory Synthesized from Diatomaceous Earth and Rice Husk Ash
Abstract: Refractory materials are products used in thermal equipment to protect the fire and prevent heat loss to the outside environment. Thermal equipment such as driers, ceramic kilns, glass or metal furnaces and others always consume high heat in the combustion of the fuel. If the thermal equipments have high heat loss which cause wastes of fuel and increases production costs. Therefore, researchers are always looking for a solution to minimize …

Experimental and Analytical Studies on Harden Properties of Cement Composite Using Different Fibres
Abstract: Cement composites are the most used composites in the world. In modern day construction practice, repair and rehabilitation of structures has taken an important role. The brittleness of cement composites can be reduced by reinforcing it with fibres for better shear and flexural behaviour of composites. This research work targets n experimental and analytical evaluation of the mechanical properties of fibre reinforced cement-sand composites. The effect of fibres on Compressive …

Analysis of unidirectional aligned Banana and Glass fiber reinforced polyester composite for tensile and flexural strength
Abstract: The hybrid composite can be set up by utilizing at least two fiber fortifications in the composite. Here the hybrid composite was set up by utilizing banana/glass fiber. In addition, fiber volume loading was 40%. The tensile test and flexural test were preceded according to ASTM D3039 and ASTM D790 separately. The results show that 5% treated fiber shows higher properties than non-treated fiber composite. NaOH treated banana fiber with …

Effect of concentration of Halloysite nanotubes on the Mechanical, Thermal and electrical properties of NBR/PP Elastomer nanocomposites
Abstract: Preparation of nanocomposites from immiscible polymer blends system has been investigated in this work. Natural clay named halloysite nanotubes are incorporated in the immiscible blend system using melt mixing process to prepare halloysite based nanocomposites comprising of PP/NBR blend system. FTIR studies have been carried out to establish the structure properties relationship. Nanocomposites are characterized by SEM for morphological studies. The thermal stability of nanocomposites has been evaluated by TGA …

Enhancement of healing capability of polyurethane with Bis-propargyl-succinate
Abstract: This study focuses on a preliminary healing ability consisting of a healing agent (bis-propargyl-succinate, BPS) injected into a curing polymer (glycidyl azide polymer-based polyurethane, GAP-based PU) via “azide-alkyne” click. The preliminary healing behavior of BPS injected GAP-based PU is investigated. The stress at break of BPS injected GAP-based PU is in the range of 0.169 – 0.218 MPa comparing with 0.244 MPa of GAP-based PU, and the highest preliminary healing …

The thermodynamic studies of 6-(4-chlorophenyl)-1, 2, 3, 4-tetrahydro-2,4-dioxopyrimidine-5-carbonitrile in 60% DMSO in the temperature range 298 to 313 K
Abstract: Densities and viscosities of 6-(4-chlorophenyl)-1, 2, 3, 4-tetrahydro-2,4-dioxopyrimidine-5-carbonitrile have been measured at different concentration in 60% dimethyl sulphoxide (DMSO) in the temperature range 298 to 313 K. The John-Dole equation was used to determine the viscosity. Gibb’s free energy (∆G), entropy change (∆S) and enthalpy change (∆H) were evaluated from relative viscosity . The negative sign of ∆G and ∆H and positive sign of ∆S indicates the spontaneity of reaction …
