Conductive Organic Polymer Based Inorganic-Organic Hybrid Composite: Synthesis and Characterization
Abstract: Inorganic organic (IO) hybrids where inserted conducting organic polymer (COP) imprints their polymeric nature onto the hybrid material are one of the most promising candidates for solving many technological problems of modern technocratic society. The Inorganic-organic hybrid material of para toluidine (organic) & mercuric chloride (inorganic) was synthesized by using “instant-heating and slow-cooling” technique. Some light orange coloured plate-like crystals were obtained. XRD pattern of the grown crystal were analysed …

Analysis of Oxidation Behavior on T-22 Boiler steel at 800°C
Abstract: The behavior of boiler steel T-22 in a rich air environment has been studied under the condition of isothermal at 800°C for 50 cycles in a cyclic manner. The kinetics of oxidation was established for boiler steel T-22under cyclic conditions for 50 cycles by weight change technique per unit area. Each cycle heating the sample at 1 hour followed by cooling 20 minutes at ambient temperature. Detonation gun spray techniques …

Comprehensive account on role of catechin based polyphenols in nanocomposite formulations
Abstract: Antioxidants play a crucial role in wellness, health maintenance and the prevention of chronic and degenerative disease, in neuroprotection activities and protection against oxidative cellular damage by U.V. radiation. Polyphenols are secondary metabolites of plants usually involved in defense against ultraviolet radiation or aggression by pathogens. Antioxidant properties, free radical-scavenging abilities and antimicrobial properties of these polyphenols make them useful in the field of biomedical applications, used as food additives, …

Effect of Shock Waves on the Hardness of Graphene Reinforced Aluminium Composites
Abstract: The advantageous properties of Aluminium metal components have proved their suitability in the field of aerospace industry, naval, sports, and other structural applications. Its disadvantages like high wear rate, less hardness limits its application for some special applications. Graphene is an allotropic form of carbon which exhibits high tensile strength, better co-efficient of friction and an easily derivable material from the carbon which is abundantly available in nature. Reinforcement of …

Effect of silicon carbide on the mechanical properties of the rice husk, corn cob polymer matrix composites
Abstract: Throughout the world there have been alarming concerns over the use of non renewable resources during manufacturing of goods and associated environmental legislations. Therefore, the use of natural materials and fabrication of composites there from, particularly, development of natural fibre reinforced polymer composites is gaining significant attention. Although natural fibre reinforced composites (NFRCs) show strong application prospects, various materials and processing related challenges needs to be addressed to achieve long-term …

Optical, Thermal Properties of Cadmium Chloride Reinforced PVA:PVP Blend Films
Abstract: In this study, pure polymer blend film (PVA:PVP) and salt (CdCl2.H2O) reinforced polymer blend films were prepared at different weight ratios (10, 20, 30) wt% using the casting method. The optical and thermal properties of all polymer blend films were studied. The transmittance and absorbance spectra were recorded within the wavelength range (190-1100) nm. The effect of salt weight ratio on the energy gap of salt (CdCl2.H2O) reinforced polymer blend films …

Role of Filler-Polymer Interface on the Thermal Conductivity in Polymer Composites
Abstract: Polymers with high thermal conductivity are the need of modern technologies due to their robustness, cost-effective, and less corrosiveness. However, bare polymers are not good heat-conductors due to their molecular structures, and their non-metallic properties. Therefore, metallic fillers of different shape and size have been used to enhance the thermal conductivity in polymer-composites. However, there has been search of best geometrical fillers which can maximize the thermal conductivity effectively with …

A Review on Polysaccharide Based Nanocomposite Hydrogel Systems Fabrication Using Diverse Reinforcing Materials
Abstract: In current scenario, materials with better physicochemical properties are desirable to achieve quality life and sustainability. Polysaccharide/biopolymeric based hydrophilic systems owning to their inherent properties especially hydrophilicity, nontoxicity, biocompatibility have extended their approach in every streta of biomedical Sciences and replaced synthetic polymers upto great extent. Despite this they also experienced certain demerits due to their biological origin. Functionalization of polysaccharide based hydrophilic polymer with reinforcing materials /modulators especially in …

Size Dependent Fluorescence Decay Dynamics of MoS2 Nanoflakes
Abstract: This paper reports a profound method to prepare MoS2, and the effect of ultraviolet light irradiation on its emission characteristics. The exfoliation of molybdenum di-sulfide (MoS2) in a liquid phase has been achieved successfully via probe sonication for different time intervals followed by centrifugation method. Ultraviolet–visible (UV–vis) spectra of the obtained MoS2 dispersions at different exfoliation time indicate that the concentration of MoS2 nanosheets as well as MoS2 quantum dots …

Studies on Modelling of Mechanical Properties of Polyester-based Semi-rigid Polyurethane Foams
Abstract: This paper describes the mechanical behaviour of castor oil based semi rigid polyurethane foams with relative density below 0.05moulded by varying isocyanate index (Isocyanate equivalent/hydroxyl equivalent) from 1:1 to 1:2. Mechanical properties of polyurethane foam mainly compressive strength is measured experimentally and the values were compared using three widely referred theoretical models namely: (i) the Empirical model (ii) Gibson and Ashby approach widely used for foam description and (iii) modified …
