Adsorption of Methylene Blue Dye from Aqueous Solution Using Polyaniline/Xanthan Gum Nanocomposite: Kinetic and Isotherm Studies
Abstract: ABSTRACTIn the present study, adsorptive properties of polyaniline/xanthan gum nanocomposite were investigated for methylene blue (MB) dye in aqueous solution. The effects of different parameters, namely adsorption time, adsorbent dose, pH and initial dye concentration were on dye adsorption were investigated. The results revealed that a rise se in pH lead to a significant increase in adsorption efficiency. Optimum adsorption time and nanocomposite dose were obtained 60 min and 0.075 …

To explore the effect of polyethylene glycol additive on mechanical and gas permeation properties of polyvinyl alcohol membranes
Abstract: Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) membranes were prepared by solution casting and blended with Polyethylene glycol (PEG) in de-ionized water which led to the formation of porous and flexible membranes. Extensive experimentation were performed, in order to find out that at what composition of PEG pores will be generated in the PVA membranes. The PVA polymer is a hard and crystalline thermoplastic so high concentrations of PEG were used, i.e. 40 wt%, …

Halloysite nanotubes – A novel reinforcing material for future applications
Abstract: The distinctive nano materials such as nano powder, nano fluids, nano tubes, nano rods, nano particles, nano fibres and so forth are used in the field of nanotechnology. These nano materials are toxic in nature so not viewed as safe for people and for nature too. Halloysite nano tubes (HNT) are eco-friendly, naturally occurring cheaply available kaolinite group mineral. HNT incorporated materials have good in strength, thermal resistance and freely …

STUDIES ON MECHANICAL, THERMAL AND PERMEATION PROPERTIES OF HDPE (BLOW GRADE) WITH MICROSILICA CLAY
Abstract: HDPE is widely used in container applications. The mechanical properties and barrier properties can be further improved by the addition of reinforcements like nanoclays. But, however the cost of nanoclays are higher about Rs.5000 – 6000/kg whereas micro silica cost is economical about Rs.450-1000/kg. Hence we used micro silica of 270nm particle size in this project with HDPE blow grade. HDPE (High density polyethylene) was melt blended with micro silica …

Influence of Polypropylene fibres in mechanical properties of fly ash concrete
Abstract: The abundant production of fly ash from coal-based thermal power plants as waste products becoming the problem for their disposal and it is also hazardous to the environment. The inclusion of fly ash in concrete reduces environmental pollution and improves the workability and durability properties of concrete. The present work has been carried out to find mechanical properties such as compressive, split tensile and flexural strength polypropylene fly ash-based concrete …

Comprehensive Evaluation of Abrasive Water Jet Machining of Fiber Reinforced Polymers
Abstract: The machining process of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymers is significant and the researchers are continually working to achieve the better machining qualities. There are numerous issues with the machining abilities of traditional machining techniques for fiber reinforced polymers because of heterogeneous and anisotropic properties of FRP materials. Advanced manufacturing processes such as laser beam, ultrasonic, EDM, water jet and abrasive water jet machining are the alternatives to the conventional making …
