Preparation and Charactrization of lead free piezoelectric ceramic/PVA polymer composites
Abstract: Sodium potassium niobate (Na0.5K0.5 NbO3 ) ceramic was prepared through conventional solid state reaction using AR grade NaNO3, KNO3 and Nb2O5 in stochiometric ratio. Poly vinyl alcohol (PVA) polymer - sodium potassium niobate composite films were prepared by solution casting method by changing the blend ratio of PVA / Na0.5K0.5NbO3. The prepared samples in the form of films were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction. The XRD studies revealed the presence …

Processing and Properties of Corn Starch based Thermoplastic Matrix for Green Composites: A Review
Abstract: New trend is emerging in development of renewable materials such as green composites which are having wide variety of applications. With growing interest and importance, the use thermoplastic starch based bio-polymers has led to more focus on the use of locally available materials. When corn starch based thermoplastic matrix is reinforced with natural fibers, desired physical-chemical properties can be achieved through melt processing. The effect of plasticizers plays vital role …

A STUDY ON MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF ALUMINIUM-4.5%COPPER ALLOY METAL MATRIX COMPOSITES REINFORCED WITH ALUMINA FIBERS USING SQUEEZE CASTING PROCESS
Abstract: Aim of the present investigation is to develop aluminium-4.5% copper alloy metal matrix composites by reinforcing with chopped alumina fibers in varying percentage like 10%, 20% and 30% and so on. The casting can be produced by using Squeeze casting process; these castings were studied for all its mechanical properties like tensile, hardness, wear and microstructure and corrosion analysis. It is observed that increase in reinforcement improves the mechanical properties …

Hybrid effect of nanoperlite and nanoclay on mechanical and rheological properties of low-density polyethylene
Abstract: The effect of two kinds of nanomaterials, nanoclay (NC) and nanoperlite (NP) was studied on morphological, rheological, mechanical and dynamic-mechanical properties of low-density poly ethylene (LDPE). It was found that hybrid nanofiller dispersion in LDPE depended on the type (hybrid or individual form) and in higher extent also on the amount of the nanofiller incorporated. Rheological results revealed that storage modulus and complex viscosity of hybrid nanofiller-filled LDPE nanocomposites increased …

ISOLATION OF CELLULOSIC NANOPARTICLES FROM COIR FIBRE FOR THE PREPARATION OF NATURAL RUBBER COMPOSITES
Abstract: Coir fibre and natural rubber are renewable and sustainable agro-resources that can be harnessed for the production of finished rubber articles on industrial scale. In this research, coir fibres extracted from coconut husk were subjected to alkaline-peroxide delignification. The delignified fibres were further transformed into coir fibre cellulosic nanoparticles (CFNP) with particle size distribution of 68–311 nm and a polydispersity index (PDI) of 0.371 through friction homogenization. These particles were …
