Depolymerization of Polypropylene: A Systematic Review
Abstract: AbstractPolypropylene have become an indispensable ingredient of human life and most widely used thermoplastic in commodity applications. Polymerization of propylene is carried out by using Ziegler-Natta or Metallocene catalysts, which results in high molecular weights and crystalline polypropylene which are not required for several applications. Reduction in molecular weight of polypropylene in conventional reactors is uneconomical and complicated. Therefore to overcome this problem researchers and technologists proposed a post reactor …

Elastomeric Blends of Natural Rubber and the Resin Exuded from Ailanthus malabaricum Tree
Abstract: AbstractElastomeric blends of natural rubber and exuded resin of Ailanthus malabaricum tree have been prepared from solution casting technique. Benzene was used as the common solvent for both the constituent polymers. Compared to the elasticity of natural rubber, the resin exhibits excellent elasticity. The combination of both the elastomers with different composition showed a considerable enhancement in elasticity of rubber. Universal testing machine was employed to study the tensile properties …

Application of Bloch Analysis to Evaluate Activation of Energy of Irradiated Polyacrylonitrile
Abstract: AbstractPolyacrylonitile is one of the important polymers of technical and scientific importance. During its usage, the polymer is exposed to different types of radiations, limiting its use. In order to investigate the processes involved in radiation effect in PAN, various efforts have been made. In this context, the authors have also made an attempt to investigate radiation induced process in PAN by electron spin resonance (ESR) technique. ESR spectra of …

Effect of Nature of Short Fibers/Carbon Black on Curing Characteristics and Physico-Mechanical Properties of Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer Rubber Composite
Abstract: AbstractIn this research work, ethylene propylene diene rubber (EPDM) composites were prepared by incorporating the various types of short fibers like cellulose, polyester, p-aramid, m-aramid, cotton short fibers and carbon black on a 2 roll mill. The effect of different short fibers content on the curing characteristics and physico-mechanical properties of EPDM composites were studied. When the loading of carbon black was fixed, it was found that carbon black content …

A Review on Hole Making in Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic Laminates
Abstract: AbstractThe existence of fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) laminates in the world since 1940s, and its application is till date growing continuously. The research papers published in this field focused on the manufacturing of laminates to its final uses. The FRPs can be manufactured by various processes, but its assembly of laminated product required a hole. Hole in laminate may be produced by means of conventional or unconventional machining. Major attention …

Effect of Electrochemically Synthesized Zno/CoO Nanocomposites on Optical, Electrical and Viscosity Properties of Polyvinyl Alcohol Films
Abstract: AbstractZnO/CoO nanocomposites doped poly vinyl alcohol films were prepared by casting method using water as a solvent. X-ray diffraction, IR spectroscopy UV-visible spectroscopy, and scanning electron microscopy techniques were used to characterize the synthesized nanocomposite films. Study of the structural changes and complexation of nanoparticles with polymer matrix were performed using X-ray and IR techniques. Optical characterization studies revealed a blue shift in the absorption edge with increasing nanoparticle concentration …
