A Review on Mechanical and Tribological Properties of Metal Matrix Composites
Abstract: AbstractNowadays, there is a rapid development in advanced metal matrix composites for structural engineering and functional devices. A real change in research from monolithic to composite materials has taken place due to need for low cost, high performance and good quality materials from the past decade. Composite materials consist of two or more materials that may differ in chemical and physical properties and are not soluble in one another. The …

Experimental Studies to Record the Lithographically Fabricated Microstructures by Surface Profilometry and Scanning Electron Microscopy for Microfluidic Laboratory-on-a-Chip Systems
Abstract: In this research paper, the poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) microfluidic laboratory-on-a-chip system is fabricated in the cleanroom laboratory by maskless lithography, hot embossing lithography and direct bonding technique. The microstructures of the lab-on-a-chip system are measured by surface stylus profilometer. Also, the images of microstructures of lab-on-a-chip system are captured by using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). This fabricated lab-on-a-chip system is useful in bioengineering applications.

Synthesis of Poly(Methyl Methacrylate) Latex Using Batch Emulsion Polymerization Reactor: Experimental and Simulation Study
Abstract: AbstractThe rationale for the present study was to develop Poly(methyl methacrylate) polymer latex, using free radical emulsion polymerization mechanism, in which water acted as the continuous aqueous phase, methyl methacrylate monomer as the dispersed phase, potassium persulfate (KPS) as an initiator and sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) as the stabilizing agent. PMMA is a versatile thermoplastic resin, used widely because of its excellent performance in optical and medical field. The characterization …

A Review on Natural Fiber and its Hybrid Composite Plastic Materials
Abstract: AbstractNowadays human beings are facing problems related to plastic based pollution. Due to that, engineers are trying to reduce the percentage of plastic as much as possible without affecting the functionality of given plastic based product. Hybrid composite materials having ability to replace some amount of the plastic with natural material are being tried. In this paper, we try to discover the different natural fiber based hybrid composite plastic materials …

Peroxide Modification of Polyolefins and Long Chain Branching and Molecular Weight Distribution Comparative Studies Thereof using HTGPC
Abstract: AbstractThe modification of polypropylene by combined use of peroxides and multifunctional components (MFC) is widely carried in order to introduce the long chain branching in the polymer. The presence of long chain branching in the polymer structure have effect on the processability, the melt strength and hence, the end-use of polyolefin polymers. The high temperature gel permeation chromatography (HTGPC) is widely used technique in the estimation of molecular weight, molecular …
