Dielectric Responses of Hybrid Polymer Matrix Composites at 2–3 GHz Microwave Frequencies
Abstract: AbstractMeasurement of dielectric properties of polymeric materials in the 2–3 GHz frequency region is very important for strategic applications such as communication electronics, rapid prototyping, and radiation assisted heating. As per international standards for industrial, scientific and medical applications (ISM) 0.9, 2.45 and 5.8 GHz microwaves can be used both for heating and communication purposes, of this 2.45 GHz is most widely used frequency, hence it is important to characterize …

Comparative Analysis of Blend of Virgin PVC and NBR with Recycled PVC and NBR
Abstract: AbstractStudies conducted on blending of polymers like acrylonitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) and polyvinylchloride (PVC) to produce new polymeric materials with specific properties which can be used for some special applications. This blend has been formulated for products working in contact with castor oils. Blends at different temperature indicate that an optimum temperature existes for its formation. Incorporating PVC in various compositions has enhanced their physico-mechanical and chemical properties of this …

Effect of Polymer Modified Fibers on Strength of Concrete
Abstract: AbstractThe results of an experimental investigation to study the effects of hooked steel fibers with varying dosage and polymer latex with fixed dosage in concrete are studied. In this experimental study, varying volume fraction of hooked steel fibers from 0% to 7% by weight of cement at the interval of 1% of fiber and SBR latex polymer of fixed volume of 15% by weight of cement were used. All specimens …

Potential of Midrib of Cocos nucifera Leaf for Reinforcement of Plastics
Abstract: AbstractCoconut palm (Cocos nucifera) is an abundant crop of tropical areas. In the present work, mechanical properties of midrib of coconut palm leaf as tensile strength, tensile modulus, flexural strength, flexural modulus impact strength and elongation at break is experimentally determined and compared with other fibers. Single-fiber pull-out test is conducted to determine critical embedded length and interfacial adhesion between fiber and matrix for reinforcement in polyester resin. Tensile test …

Test Investigation on Mechanical Properties of Palmyra Bract Fiber Composite
Abstract: AbstractBiological concerns have brought about replenished enthusiasm for regular materials regarding their mechanical applications and principal examination. Recyclability and ecological security are getting to be progressively vital to the presentation of characteristic materials and items. Petroleum based items, for example, gums in thermo set plastics are poisonous and non- biodegradable. The saps and filaments utilized as a part of green composites are biodegradable when they are dumped, disintegrated by the …
