Synthesis and Characterization of Banana Fiber Composite
Abstract: AbstractBanana fiber is used for making handbags, floor mats, ropes, clothes, etc., since many years. The authors considered banana fiber to make composite with thermoset material. The purpose of this work was to establish and optimize a process for production of banana fiber-reinforced composite material with thermoset. Fiber surface modification and treatment were studied along with processing condition for polyester fiber composite. Natural fiber-reinforced bio-degradable composites are good alternative for …

Infrared Spectroscopic Studies on Multiwalled Carbon Nanotubes Reinforced Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene Composites
Abstract: AbstractFourier Transformed Infrared (FT-IR) Spectroscopic analysis is an effective technique to captures the response of the molecular motions such as stretching, bending and torsional vibrations of materials. In this study, FTIR analysis has been done on two different grades of multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) C100 and NC7000. NC7000 grade MWCNT has a higher degree of crystalinity and shows 60% higher absorbance in the wavelength range of 600-3600 cm-1. These two …

Sugarcane Bagasse: A Promising Source for the Production of Nanocellulose
Abstract: AbstractThis paper reviews the recent studies of extraction of nanocellulose (cellulose nanofibers, nanocrystals, nanowhiskers, nanocrystalline cellulose, etc.) from sugarcane bagasse as agro-waste by different extraction methods such as acid-hydrolysis, alkaline-hydrolysis, enzymatic-hydrolysis, sonication, high-pressure homogenization, and shear ultrafine friction grinding, disk-grinder, including potential applications. Keywords: Sugarcane bagasse, nanocellulose, nanofibres, nanocrystals, acid-hydrolysis

Alcid Bamboo
Abstract: AbstractNatural bamboo is one of the fastest growing plants, with maturity cycle of 3–4 year, thus making highly attractive natural renewable resource compared to hardwood. This bamboo can replace timber in many applications, but their mechanical property differs with species, age, climatic factor, moisture content and different height of culm. Due to this the natural bamboo can be replaced by synthetic one which are man-made and also known as engineered …

Design, Analysis and Fabrication of Composite Leaf Spring
Abstract: AbstractNowadays composite materials are one of the materials which are greatly attracting researchers. Reducing weight and increasing or maintaining the strength of materials is getting to be highly important research issue in this modern world. In this paper, design, fabrication and analysis of composite leaf spring have been presented. The objective is to design a composite leaf spring with reduced length and weight as compared to steel leaf spring. The …
