An integrated analysis of shipbuilding for industrial growth and development of India
Abstract: Nations that are smaller than India and suffer from multiple adversaries still have been able to advance and develop their industrial base and grow richer, e.g. Israel (44474 $US, GDP per capita) and Sri Lanka (14509 $US, GDP per capita). As a nation, we have failed to develop into a nation capable of manufacturing and to build a base that can drive India’s industrial progress. Herein, we examine the role …

Design of High Speed Slamming Planing Craft
Abstract: This paper chronicles the hypothetical study, test results, design aspects such as stability characteristics, vessel’s high speed performance i.e. short take-off and landing distance, and vertical take-off and landing characteristics, operating at low shallow draft, high speed propulsion efficiency sans cavitation interference, less machinery operating noise, compact hullform & structure, efficient conveyance and applications of High Speed Slamming Planing craft (HSSPC). Amongst High Speed Performance Marine Vessels, this is one …

Probabilistic and Diagnostic methods to determine the multiple failure mechanisms of HPT 1st stage Marine gas turbine blade.
Abstract: AbstractThe failure analysis of high pressure turbine (HPT) blade belonging to 30 MW gas turbine used in marine applications is presented. Before failure, the turbine blade under evaluation was operated for about 10000 hours while its service life was expected to be around 15000 hours. The gas turbine blade was made of Nickel based super alloy and was manufactured by investment casting method. An attempt has been made to analyze …

Types of Offshore Wind Turbine Foundation & Loads Consideration : Review
Abstract: The energy is the most essential part of our system. But, the conventional type of energy is limited in nature therefore the non-conventional energy also known as renewable energy is gaining scope. The offshore wind energy is one of the most important types of renewable energy. For the foundation of offshore wind turbines, seabed condition is extreme and the environmental conditions are also extreme for the super structure and sub …

Comparison of ground-based and satellite retrievals of Total column ozone at Visakhapatnam-India
Abstract: This work represents a comparison study of total column ozone data from the ground-based Microtops-II spectrophotometer and the overpass data from satellite instrument EPTOMS/OMI in Visakhapatnam-India (Lat.17o 421N, Long 83o 141E) for the year 2005-2008. The result indicated that data obtained with ozonometer and OMI instrument are found to be in close agreement with each other, and overall correlation coefficient between these two datasets is 0.93, which is significant at …
