Fatigue Assessment for Pump Tower Tubular Joints under Partial Penetration Welds
Abstract: ABSTRACT In this paper the fatigue capacity of the tubular joints of the tripod pump tower structure installed in the cargo tanks of membrane type LNG vessels is studied using fatigue assessment methodology specified in Class Code such as DNVGL-RP-0005 [1]. The stress concentration factors and the S-N curve used in this methodology are normally valid for the weld toe location where fully penetration weld is applied. The current study …

Acoustic Logging Methods in Fractured and Porous Formations
Abstract: Abstract Formation fractures have significant importance in the rocks’ permeability of oil and gas reservoirs. In real conditions, the opening of vertical fractures exceeds the opening of horizontal fractures and the permeability of reservoirs in conditions of horizontal wells is higher than in vertical conditions. For the sonic log longitudinal waves, unlike the transverse waves, the attenuation rate strongly depends on the wave path direction. It is shown that the …

Drilling [Opportunities and Threats] in Arctic
Abstract: AbstractTo drill or not to drill? The Arctic is changing and increasingly drawing the world’s interest. Perhaps the guarantee of this immense region was best compressed by the previous Secretary of State George Shultz, when he said that the opening of the Arctic is the best occasion in mankind's history since the happening to the ice age. As environmental change renders the Arctic progressively available, there has been a generous …

Oil and Gas Infrastructure and the Overview of Its Application in the USA
Abstract: Abstract The USA business is extensive and differing, it is the key to the economy of the nation. It involves roughly more than 200,000 miles of pipe in all the 50 states joined, fluid hydrocarbon pipelines convey more than 40 million barrels for each day. That speaks to almost 22% of all cargo transported in the USA. Around 66% of the residential transport by (tons) per mile happens by pipeline; …
