Histological Alteration in the Kidney of a Fresh Water Cat Fish Clarias Batrachus Exposed to Silver Nanoparticles
Abstract: Despite increasing application of silver nanoparticles (NPs) in industry and consumer products, there is still little known about their potential toxicity, particularly to organism in aquatic environment. Our aim is to investigate the fate and effect of silver NPs in fish Clarias batrachus. The histological alterations in the kidney of a freshwater catfish Clarias batrachus exposed to sublethal concentration silver nanoparticle were examined. The kidney exhibited shrinkage of glomeruli but …

Green Synthesis and Characterization of Silver Nano-conjugates Using Heliotropium indicum and Glycosmis pentaphylla Leaf Aqueous Extracts
Abstract: Heliotropium indicum Linn. (Family Boraginaceae), an annual herbaceous medicinal plant, is usually known as Indian heliotrope. Glycosmis pentaphylla (Retz.) DC (Family Rutaceae) is a perennial shrub, commonly known as orange-berry. These traditionally used medicinal plants originate from tropical and temperate parts of the world along with India, Southeast Asia, Northern Australia, and some other African countries. Extensive literature studies suggested that the different parts of the plant are reported to …

Effect of Halloysite Loading Rate on Mechanical Properties and Thermal Stability of HNT/Epoxy Nanocomposite
Abstract: Halloysite nanotube (HNT) based polymer matrix composites were fabricated through casting using ultrasonication, followed by compression moulding method. In this research, HNT is taken into account as reinforcement, dispersed into the diglycidyl ether of bisphenol-A epoxy (LY 556). HNT/x (x=0 to 5 wt.%) composites were analysed according to the mechanical properties like tensile, flexural, hardness and impact. It has been found that thermal stability has been appreciably improved and calculated …

Inclusion of Gallium Oxide with Silver Oxide of Tunable Optical Properties for their Unusual Catalytic Performances
Abstract: AgGaO2 nanocomposites were prepared by hydrothermal synthesis. The crystal was assessed using Scherer equation for the as-prepared nanoparticles and annealed samples of AgGaO2 at 40 and 55 nm, respectively. Silver and gallium nitrates were reacted in an alkaline medium using NaBH4, which was used to reduce particle size. The presence of relatively homogeneous nanocomposites was confirmed by X-ray diffraction. Morphological studies were analyzed by transmission and scanning electron microscopy. Vibration …

Study of CdS/AZO/FTO, CdS/FTO and CdS Thin Films Deposited by Modified Double Layer Thermal Evaporation
Abstract: The CdS/AZO/FTO, CdS/FTO and CdS thin films were deposited by a modified double-layer vacuum evaporation technique. The 90 nm of double-layer CdS thin films were prepared with the bottom layer 50 nm thick and the upper one was 40 nm thick and respective substrate temperatures were 100oC and 70oC. The physical properties of thus prepared films were characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV-VIS-NIR spectrophotometer, Hall Effect Measurement System and Scanning …

Substrates Effects on CdTe Thin Films Using Double Layer Thermal Evaporation
Abstract: The CdTe thin films are successfully deposited by a thermal evaporation method. In the CdTe/CdS/FTO glass and CdTe/CdS/AZO/FTO glass structures, modified double-layer thermal evaporation technique is applied for the preparation of CdTe thin films. The XRD analysis of CdTe thin films showed that the films are polycrystalline with a cubic structure. The scanning electron microscopy (SEM) image showed the homogeneous and uniform surface structure of the films. High conductivity of …

Experimental Investigation on Tensile Characteristics of Hybrid Nanocomposite Joints by FSW with Optimized Welding Parameters
Abstract: Aluminium based nanometal matrix composites have emerged as highly promising class of materials in the field of materials domain, gaining importance mainly due to their low cost, isotopic properties and easy secondary processing. Cast aluminium matrix particle-reinforced composites have higher specific strength, specific modulus and good wear resistance when compared to unreinforced alloys. Continuous metal matrix phase facilitates controlled distribution of one or more nano-reinforcement materials. There are several conventional …

Catalytic Reduction of Organic Dyes with Green Synthesized Silver Nanoparticles using Aloe vera Leaf Extract
Abstract: In this present study, we report a facile, cost-effective and non-toxic method of synthesis of silver nanoparticles using 4mM silver nitrate and aqueous leaf extract of Aloe vera as reducing and capping agent in presence of 25% ammonia solution. Then these green synthesized nanoparticles are used as catalysts for the degradation of organic dyes. The synthesized silver nanoparticles (AVSNPs) were characterized using different techniques like UV-Visible spectroscopy, Fourier infrared spectroscopy …
