Comparative study of models for II-VI group semiconductor nanomaterials using DMR
Abstract: In this study, we will compare the study done by different researchers on the semiconductor II-VI group material by using different models including DMR (Diffusivity-Mobility Ratio). We will check out the DMR and other model parameters used to compare the performance of semiconductor II-VI group material. The basic formulation and the study of these models will help us to understand the basic properties of the nanomaterials studied so far. Keywords: DMR, …

Thermal Performance of Wickless Heat Pipe Flat Plate Solar Collector with Nanofluid
Abstract: Water heating by solar energy is the most important solar energy utilization because of technological feasibility and economic attraction compared with other kind’s energy utilization. The system can supply hot water at 50oC to 80oC which can be used for both domestic and industrial purposes. Nanofluids are the important fluids containing a very small amount of Nano particles that are uniformly suspended in fluids. Nanofluids having high thermal conductivity as …

Synthesis and Characterization of CeO2-ZrO2 Nanocomposites
Abstract: CeO2-ZrO2 nanocomposites were prepared by hydrothermal method and characterized by using XRD (X-ray diffractometer) to study the structural analysis of the prepared nanocomposites. The as-prepared samples were further annealed at 150º C and 300º C. From the structural studies crystal size and lattice parameter was calculated. FTIR analysis confirms the results of vibrational spectra and XPS, EDAX analysis confirms the elements presents in the composites. Effect of annealing in frequency …

Investigations on Microbial Growth Inhibition by Carbon Based Nanomaterials
Abstract: We have studied the antimicrobial activity of carbon-based nanomaterials e.g. graphene oxide with their mechanism of action. We have synthesized the graphene oxide using modified Hummer’s method from high purity graphite precursors. The microstructures and morphology of graphene-based materials have been studied using X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The specific surface area and porosity analysis of graphene oxide are analyzed using …

Synthesis of Nickel Oxide Nanoparticles by Foam Fractionation
Abstract: Nanoparticles of nickel oxide (NiO) have been prepared by foaming technique. Nickel nitrate hexahydrate as a source of nickel and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) as a surfactant were used for the synthesis of nickel oxide. Air flow rate of 0.3 lpm through sparger was controlled by rotameter. NiO is prepared by calcination of nickel hydroxide. The generated foam was collected from the sample outlet provided at the top of the glass …

Morphological Studies of ZrO2 Prepared by Thermal Evaporation Technique
Abstract: Zirconium is the rare earth element used as superconductive element at low temperatures. It is extensively used for the chemical industry to protect corrosion alkalis and seawater. It is naturally acting as an insulator; it is very much helpful to the optoelectronic devices when it is used as oxides. ZrO2 is synthesized by using combustion synthesis, the as-prepared samples were pelletized, and this pellet was used in the thermal evaporation …

Studies on the preparation and characterization of TiO2 thin film
Abstract: Titanium dioxide thin film was deposited on the class substrate by using Ti(C10H14O5), and characterized by using X-Ray diffractometer (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), SEM analysis was discussed for 350º C. FTIR analysis gives the vibrational modes of vibrations of the material. The diffraction plane is (101) and crystal size was as 50 nm. The morphological studies of the sample inferred that the size was nearly in micrometer due …

A Study of Nature Based Dye with Different Extracting Solvents as a Sensitizer for Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells
Abstract: In this paper, natural dye extracts were used as a sensitizer for Dye Sensitized Solar Cell (DSSC). The natural dye was extracted from Lantana camara leaf, flower and Clitoria ternatea flower using ethanol and acidified ethanol (in 1% HCl) as extracting solvent. The DSSCs have been fabricated using pure TiO2 and Ni doped TiO2 layers as photoanodes deposited by Doctor Blade method on fluorine doped Tin Oxide (FTO) glass substrate …
