A Synthesis and Characterization of Copper Oxide Nano Hollow Spheres
Abstract: A simple precipitation and calcination method has been evolved for synthesis of copper oxide (CuO) nano hollow spheres in air ambience. Copper nitrate was used as precursor material in the preparation, and sodium hydroxide was used as precipitating agent. The precipitated particles were subjected to calcinations for oxidation. The obtained CuO nanoparticles were characterised by the following analytical methods of XRD, FTIR, DLS, AFM, SEM and TEM for feature of …

Design of Linear Quadratic Optimal Regulator for Nanopositioning System
Abstract: One of the most important requirement of nanotechnology is precision control and manipulation of devices and materials at nanoscale i.e., nanopositioning. In this paper, open loop characteristics of the non minimum phase nanopositioning system such as poles and zeros location, controllability, observability are investigated. To improve the system characteristics feedback controllers are used. The key of the controller is to design a system with good time response characteristics as well …

Extracellular Biosynthesis of Silver Nanoparticles using the Fungus Pleurotus ostreatus and their Antibacterial Activity
Abstract: In the present study, an eco-friendly process for the synthesis of nanomaterials using a fungus (Pleurotus ostreatus) has been attempted. The fungus supernatant of seed culture was used for the biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles. The aqueous silver ions were reduced to silver metal nanoparticles when treated with the fungal supernatant. After 72h of treatment, silver nanoparticles were obtained. These silver nanoparticles were characterized by UV–Vis spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), …

Fabrication of Micro/Nano-structures in Soda-Lime Glass by Single-beam Femtosecond Laser Writing
Abstract: In this paper, we demonstrate the formation of controllable periodic micro/nano-holes and horizontal periodic micro/nano-gratings on the surface of and inside soda-lime glass by irradiation with a single-beam femtosecond laser. These kinds of periodic micro/nano-structures are fabricated on the surface of and different layers inside soda-lime glass without damaging other layers. Suitable control over various irradiation conditions of the femtosecond laser beam, such as average pulse energy, scanning speed, scanning …

Green Synthesis of Gold Nanoparticles Using Piper Nigrum (Black Pepper) Aqueous Extract
Abstract: In the present study, we wish to report the green synthesis of gold nanoparticles using aqueous extract from fruit of black pepper. The extract with different concentrations was reduced with HAuCl4 aqueous solution at room temperature. The color change, pH change and UV-visible spectroscopic analysis reveal the surface plasmon resonance (SPR) of the final reaction product which confirms the reduction of Au3+ ion to gold nanoparticles. The FTIR spectra confirms …
