Synthesis and Evaluation of Chalcone Derivatives and Schiff bases derivatives as Antibacterial
Abstract: AbstractSix substituted chalcones have been synthesized by condensing benzaldehyde derivatives with acetophenone in dilute ethanolic sodium hydroxide solution at room temperature according to Claisen-Schmidt condensation. In addition, four of Schiff bases have been prepared via imine condensation between substituted benzaldehyde firstly with (3) 2-aminophenol, secondly, with phenylhydrazine. Moreover, study the efficient of synthesized compounds as antibacterial agents were evaluated. The structures of the synthesized compounds were confirmed by the melting …

Mechanical performance of polymer composites reinforced with natural fibers for reliable structural biomaterial
Abstract: AbstractHybrid nanocomposite that exploits the synergy between natural fibers (industrial jute) in nano-reinforced unsaturated polyester (UP) based polymer can lead to improved properties while maintaining environmental appeal. Reinforcement of the UP-based resin with natural fibers (industrial jute) permits to retain flexural strength and hardness without sacrificing modulus, while also improving tribological properties. The industrial jute reinforced UP matrix composites having different filler was fabricated by compression molding technique and the …

Synthesis, physicochemical and FTIR characterization of vegetable oil-based polyol from (Ximenia americana) seed oil.
Abstract: AbstractTo source for alternatives vegetable oil in the production of polyol, oil was extracted from Ximenia americana seed, and the oil yield was recorded to be 51%. Using standard methods, X. americana seed oil (XSO) was analyzed for its refractive index, density, acid value, peroxide value, iodine value and viscosity, and the results obtained were 1.3680, 0.867 g/cm3, 0.2805 mg KOH/g, 31.33 meqO2/kg, 92.46 mgI2/100 g, 225.23 Cp (at 25°C), …

Arsenic Removal by Using Low Cost Non-conventional (NLP, PLP, ALP) Adsorbents
Abstract: AbstractIn present study, Azadirachta indica (neem leaves), Ficus religiosa (peepal leaves), Emblica officinalis (amla leaves) used as adsorbent. Batch experiments were conducted to study the adsorption behaviour. The material was characterized by FTIR, XRD, TGA-DTA, and SEM-EDS. The extent of arsenic removal capacity was tested by the material by varying the solution parameters like adsorbent dose, adsorbate concentration and pH of the solution, contact time and temperature. The amount of …

Computational study of some heterocyclic scaffolds derived from quinazoline and Mannich base Sydnone
Abstract: AbstractThe current study reports design and diversity-oriented synthesis of novel heterocycles incorporating thioureido linkage and mesoionic compounds could find new applications in biology. Employing reagent-based skeletal diversity approach; a facile synthesis of quinazoline and sydnone moiety has been accomplished. The synthesized compounds were characterized by IR and 1H NMR-spectral data, and elemental analysis. The structural and electronic properties of newly synthesized compounds have been explored theoretically by performing semi-empirical molecular …
