Corrosion Behaviour of CNT-Alumina Coated T22 Boiler Steel in Na2SO4-60% V2O5 Environment at 900°C Temperature
Abstract: In this research work, carbon nanotubes reinforced Al2O3 coated ASME-SA213-T22 boiler tube steel was investigated for high temperature corrosion behaviour in molten salt environment at 900°C temperature. The coatings were deposited using plasma spray technique and NiCr was used as bond coat before applying CNTs-Al2O3 coatings. The thermogravimetric technique was used to establish kinetics of corrosion. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy/energy-dispersive x-ray analysis (SEM/EDAX) techniques were used to …

Experimental Investigation of Properties of Friction Stir Welded Butt Joints of Dissimilar Aluminium Alloys 6061 and 6082
Abstract: Friction stir welding (FSW) is an innovative welding process commonly known as a solid state welding process. The aim of the present work, to study the effect of welding parameters through; tool rotation speed, welding speed and depth of cut on the micro-structure and mechanical properties of FSW butt joints of dissimilar aluminium alloy. The results showed that joint between 6061 and 6082 plates were successfully obtained. The average size …

Polymer Modifications (Grafting): Approach to Enhance Versatility of Natural/Renewable Polymeric Materials
Abstract: Graft copolymers are branched copolymers containing a long chain of one monomer called preformed or backbone polymer and branches/grafts of long sequences of usually another monomer. A number of monomeric units can be grafted on the biopolymeric backbone by free radical graft copolymerization reaction using chemical free radical initiator to produce reactive sites on the backbone of biopolymer. The chemical combination of natural and synthetic polymers yields new materials which …

Photochemical Bleaching of Textile Waste Water of Bhilwara (Rajasthan) by Photo Fenton Reagent
Abstract: During the last decade, Bhilwara has developed into a leading place in the textile industry in the country. Bhilwara is the hub of textile industries in the state of Rajasthan and known as “Textile City”. Textile industry is one of the most water and chemical intensive industries worldwide. About 200–400 l of water is needed to produce 1 kg of textile fabric in textile factories. Textile industry involves processing or …

Passive Capillary Flow of Aqueous Microparticle Suspensions in the Straight Microchannels fabricated by the Negative Photoresist SU-8
Abstract: A group of microfluidic devices are fabricated by the SU-8 negative photoresist using the standard SU-8 processing techniques. The influences of effective viscosity, channel aspect ratio and surface wettability on the surface-driven capillary flow of aqueous microparticle suspensions are individually studied in straight microchannels. Nano-films of diamond like carbon (DLC) are used to vary the surface wettability on SU-8 based microchannel structures. The number densities of suspended polystyrene microparticles in …

Antifungal Activity of Zero-valent Iron Nanoparticles Synthesized by Green Protocols Using Camellia sinensis Extract against Pathogenic Aspergillus Species
Abstract: Zero-valent iron nanoparticles with potential antifungal activity were synthesized following a green protocol using Camellia sinensis leaves extract. FeSO4.7H2O was reduced to black metallic iron by Camellia sinensis leaves extract. The green synthetic procedure without using any hazardous chemical reagents is hopeful which reduces the possibility of chemical pollution. The synthesized nanoparticles were characterized by UV/visible and fluorescence spectroscopies. The surface morphology, size, shape and particle distribution were studied using …
