Analytical exploration of self-consolidating concrete (SCC) mix proportions via the Taguchi method
Abstract: To address the challenge of limited space within structural elements containing densely packed reinforcement, Self-Compacting Concrete (SCC) was developed. This study focuses on optimizing the experimentation process using Design of Experiments (DoE). Taguchi's standard L(3) orthogonal array (OA) was utilized, consisting of four factors with three levels each, resulting in nine trial mixes. The factors examined include water-powder ratio, cementitious material content, superplasticizer dosage, and steel fiber content. The aim …

Enhancing Compressive Strength and Durability through Optimization of Concrete Mixtures
Abstract: This research investigates how varying cement-aggregate ratio, water-cement ratio, and slump height affect the compressive strength of concrete mixtures. Through an analysis of 36 samples, each representing different combinations of these parameters, significant insights are gained into the optimization of concrete mix designs for construction applications. The study reveals that higher water-cement ratios tend to decrease compressive strength due to increased porosity in cured concrete. Conversely, higher cement-aggregate ratios generally …

Cheap and Effective Methods for Soil Stabilization in India: A Comprehensive Study
Abstract: Soil stabilization is a crucial aspect of infrastructure development, especially in regions like India, where diverse soil types present challenges to construction projects. This research paper delves into cost-effective methods for enhancing soil stability tailored specifically to the Indian context. Through a comprehensive study, various low-cost techniques are explored for their effectiveness in improving soil properties and mitigating construction risks. By analysing case studies and experimental data, this paper aims …

Evaluate Indore City's Ambient Air Quality Using the Real Time-Air Quality Index (RT-AQI)
Abstract: This effort aims to express the ambient air quality of Indore city as a real-time air quality index (RTAQI). Readings were taken early in the morning (8:00 AM to 10:00 AM) and during the evening rush hour (8.00 PM to 10:00 PM) to assess PM2.5, PM10, sulphur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), ozone (O3), carbon monoxide (CO), and NH3 at several places in Indore. With those readings, the air quality …

Spatial variations of land surface temperature and its relationship with the type of land use/cover
Abstract: Environmental parameters are intricately interdependent and affect nearby and sometimes distant components. Environmental parameters become more important when dealing directly with humans. Land surface temperature (LST) is one of the environmental parameters that when it is related to the city as the main center of human gathering, it is referred to as urban heat island (UHI). Land use/ Land cover (LU/LC) is one of the important environmental parameters that affect …
