Comparative Analysis of Beam-to-Column End-Plate Bolted, Riveted and Welded Connections
Abstract: This piece of work aims at the modeling and using the finite-element method approach (FEM) to analyze the structures with bolted, riveted and welded column to beam end-plate connection in the structural steel framework subjected to static loading. A detailed 3D simulation model of the bolted, riveted and welded beam-to-column end-plate connections is constructed in PRO-E wildfire version 5.0 and it is analyzed in the ANSYS workbench version 14.0 to …

Effect of Notch on Low Cycle Fatigue of AA 2024-T351
Abstract: Notch effect on low cycle fatigue of AA 2024-T351 was investigated. Decreasing notch curvature leads to less cyclic hardening. Values of fatigue strength exponent (b) and fatigue ductility (c) for notch specimens were out of range of metallic materials. The SEM examination showed multi-crack origins with secondary cracks and a large final-fracture zone for unnotched specimens, while there was small final fracture zone close to the center of the specimen …

Probabilistic Analysis of Fatigue Life of Polymer Concrete
Abstract: In this paper, probabilistic analysis of fatigue life of polymer concrete has been carried out with the intent to study its fatigue-life distributions using Weibull distribution. Three-point flexural fatigue tests were conducted on polymer concrete specimens of size 40 × 40 × 160 mm using MTS Servo-controlled actuator to obtain the fatigue lives at different stress levels. It has been observed that the probabilistic distribution of fatigue life of polymer …
