Genetic Algorithm Application for Efficient Load Frequency Control
Abstract: Load frequency control (LFC) is known to be significant control strategy for operation in electric power grid that entails balancing the electrical power provided by power plants with the electrical power consumed by the load. The primary purpose of LFC is to ensure that the power system functions within a specific frequency range and that the power provided by power plants matches the power used by the load. Power system …

Frozen Waves: Double T-Shape Patch Antenna Sensor for Precise Ice and Snow Measurement
Abstract: To design a Micro strip patch antenna with double T shaped slots at operating frequency 2.4GHz was developed for ice detection and measurement application. Detection was performed by monitoring the resonance frequency and amplitude of the transmission coefficient between the antenna sensor and a broadband receiver. The patch antenna sensor is also capable of distinguishing between ice and water, respectively when compared to the bare sensor. The antenna was also …

Design and Implementation of IoT-enabled Movable Road Divider for Vehicular Traffic Control
Abstract: Road dividers are widely used to separate continuous and incoming traffic on road. This is useful for maintaining traffic flow. In this case, there are equal numbers of lanes for incoming and continuous traffic. However, in specific zones, such as industrial or shopping zones, traffic generally flows in one direction in the early morning or late at night. There is nothing or no use on the other side of the …

Challenges and Solutions in Load Frequency Control: A Review of Controller Design
Abstract: The Load Frequency Control (LFC) of two area interconnected reheat thermal systems utilising a traditional proportional integral (PI) controller is described in this study. Boiler dynamics, a non-linear generating rate constraint, and a regulator dead band are all integrated into the system. When nonlinearities and boiler dynamics are considered, the traditional PID & P controllers do not produce sufficient control performance. To overcome this issue, a PI Controller has been …

Advances in Hand Gesture Recognition for Interactive Media Player Control: A Review
Abstract: People want fast replies from complicated systems in today's fast-paced world, highlighting the significance of speedy interaction. As technology develops, issues with responsiveness and ease of use become more important. The study of human-computer interaction, which goes beyond conventional input devices like keyboards and mouse, is relevant in this situation. Much focus is paid to touch recognition, which is a common and natural method of interaction. The fusion of computer …
