Theoretical Study of Substituent Effects on Electronic Properties and Polarizability for (2, 5, 24, 27-Tetrahalogen Pentacene) Molecule
Abstract: DFT and semi empirical methods have been carried out studying (2, 5, 24, 27 tetrahalogen pentacen) molecules using the B3LYP functional and the 6-311G (d, p) basis set and AM1 model. Total energy, electronic properties such as; ionization potential, electron affinity, energy gap, dipole moment, polarizability and electronic potential. The calculated ionization potential (6.126 eV) and electron affinity (1.417 eV) of this molecule is in a good agreement with experimental …

Process Identification in Single Capacity and Multicapacity Tank System
Abstract: In any process, industry the main and primary variable and process that needs to be controlled are temperature, level and flow. The main objective of this work is to maintain the process liquid at a desired level or change it at a pre-determined rate by controlling the manipulated variables. Here two types of system are considered; interacting and noninteracting and the response curves of this system to various forcing functions …

Role of Reactive Extraction in Removal of Phenol from Wastewater
Abstract: Phenol is one of the most common organic water pollutants as it is highly toxic even at low concentration. Also, its presence in natural water can lead to the formation of substituted compounds during disinfection and oxidation processes. Reactive extraction method is found to be a capable alternate for separation of medium (300–3000 mg/l) to high (3000–6000 mg/l) concentration of phenol. The degree of extraction depends on nature of extractant, …

Synthesis of Biodiesel with Methanol Recovery in Reactive Distillation
Abstract: In the present study, biodiesel was synthesized from waste vegetable oil, methanol and catalyst. The present work investigates the use of reactive distillation for continuous production and separation of biodiesel with recovery of excess methanol as top product of acceptable purity. In order to determine the best conditions for biodiesel production by reactive distillation, process parameters such as molar ratio of oil to alcohol, reaction temperature, catalyst concentration (0.5–1.5 wt …

Modeling of Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger
Abstract: A heat exchanger is a equipment for transferring thermal energy between two fluids. Transfer of heat from one fluid to another is the most employed operations in chemical process industries. They are either used for heating or cooling. The most common application of heat transfer is to transfer heat from one fluid to another. The thermal design of shell and tube heat exchanger is discussed in detail in this paper. …
