Abstract

These days, fuel cell hybrid vehicles are used to reduce the amount of lubricant required and prevent pollution from burning fossil fuels; as a result, large research centers and enterprises are interested in conducting research and development on this topic. Since battery-operated vehicles have a slower thermodynamic and electrochemical response than fuel cell-powered vehicles, hybrid energy storage systems for electric vehicles must be designed using a bidirectional DC-DC converter, batteries, and super capacitors. Due to its high energy density and excellent thermal performance, lithium-ion batteries are the other resource employed in hybrid systems. The paper presents the development of hybrid energy storage system for electric vehicle to ensure smooth coverage of long-distance travel In this paper, a simulation model of the projected HESS is formed on MATLAB/Simulink. A battery and a supercapacitor are the perfect combination forming a hybrid energy storage system to energize an electric vehicle. This paper presents the HESS with Lithium-ion battery and supercapacitor with load as an Electric vehicle. Interconnection of DC-DC converter associated with integrated magnetic structure has been seen. Hence, lessen in size of battery and decrement in weight of battery has seen with optimization of power quality of hybrid energy is ruled out.
