Abstract

Routing protocols play a crucial role in modern computer networks, and their effectiveness can impact the performance and reliability of a network. The choice of the routing protocol depends on the network topology and requirements, and selecting the right protocol can be a challenging task for network administrators. Cisco Packet Tracer is a simulation tool that allows network administrators to design, configure, and test network topologies in a virtual environment. This paper explores the effectiveness of routing protocols using Cisco Packet Tracer. The paper examines the different types of routing protocols, including distance vector, link-state, and path vector, and their advantages and disadvantages. The paper also discusses how to implement and test routing protocols using Cisco Packet Tracer and highlights some of the common issues that can arise when using routing protocols. The paper demonstrates the benefits of using simulation tools like Cisco Packet Tracer for network design and optimization. The simulation can help network administrators to evaluate the performance of different routing protocols under different conditions and select the most suitable protocol for their network. The paper concludes that Cisco Packet Tracer is a powerful tool for testing and optimizing routing protocols, and its use can lead to more reliable and efficient computer networks.
