Abstract

AbstractThe issues in the existing traditional power grids can be overcome by implementing a Smart Grid (SG). Several issues like uni-directional information flow, energy wastage, growing energy demand, reliability and security can be addresses. SGs offer bi-directional energy flow between service providers and consumers, involving power generation, transmission, distribution and utilization systems. Along with IoT it can monitor, analyze and control the grid, deployed at power plants, distribution centers and in consumers premises in a very large number with connectivity, automation and the tracking of such devices. In this paper we will see an overview and integration of Internet of things and smart grid and existing applications of IoT-aided SG systems. Keywords: IoT, SG, EVCite this ArticleSanthi M. Laguduva.
