Abstract

AbstractOver the past few decades, the increasingly popular architecture of RF systems with software has become increasingly popular. Almost every commercial automated RF system (COTS) today uses application software for communication via the bus interface with the device. As the complexity of radio frequency applications is increasing, engineers are constantly faced with the dilemma of increasing functionality without increasing testing time and, ultimately, to verify the cost. Although improvements in test measurement algorithms, bus speed and processor speed have shortened the test time, further improvements are needed to solve the problem of further increasing the complexity of RF test applications. The Vector Signal Transceiver (VST) is a new type of device that merges a vector signal generator (VSG) and a vector signal analyzer (VSA) with real-time signal processing and control based on FPGA. This software-oriented approach allows VST to have the flexibility of the software architecture (SDR) with the characteristic of the class of radio frequency devices. keywords: Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS), vector signal transceiver (VST), vector signal generator vector signal generator (VSG), vector signal analyzer (VSA), software-defined radio (SDR), field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), device under test (DUT)Cite this ArticleGundeep Singh, Sanamdeep Singh, Ramandeep Kaur, et al.
