Traffic analysis and modeling is an important approach to study network applications. In the past decade, numerous types of Internet and multimedia application traffic have been extensively studied and the result of this research shows that such traffic has the feature of self-similarity. Contrasted and these customary applications, IPTV has an alternate construction modeling and client practices. Thus, the attributes of IPTV movement vary from those of conventional applications and, likewise, customary activity models are inadmissible for IPTV administrations. Additionally, utilizing a lattice as a foundation for IPTV applications is different from even conventional IPTV construction modeling systems. Utilizing a framework, an overlay Content Distribution Network (CDN) can be utilized to transport multicast or unicast streams proficiently. In this way, we oblige a new activity model for IPTV applications over grid systems. We have collected and analyzed network- layer IPTV CDN traffic measurements and, based on the characteristics of IPTV CDN traffic, we have developed a traffic simulator using NS2.
