Micro-strip antennas are preferred to WLAN applications because of their low profile, light weight and low power handling capacity. In this paper, micro-strip patch antenna (MSPA) arrays are designed and analyzed. The target frequency range is at S-band with frequencies that range from 2 to 4 GHz. Antenna arrays are explored to achieve higher gain and improved bandwidth (BW). The key parameters to obtain this goal are antenna dimensions such as antenna length (L), and antenna width (W), and feedline (FL). This paper investigates different antenna arrays within varying W, L and FL for higher gain and improved BW. It proposes a new single port 2 × 2 MSPA array with optimum FL having significant improvement of BW. The result shows that the proposed antenna array has fractional bandwidth of 32% and antenna gain is 11 dBi at the resonance frequency of 2.2 GHz. The design and simulation of this antenna has been preformed with the help of CST Studio 2011.Keywords: Directivity, radiation pattern, array, S-parameter, WLAN, linear array, square array
