Abstract

This paper gives an overview of present knowledge, literature and research regarding the different flow mixing mechanisms and their characteristics in case of combustion system of gas turbine combustors. It covers existing literature related to vortex flow, its properties and applications, types of combustion systems, potential application of Helmholtz’s theorem, numerical and experimental investigation on fluid mixing behavior in flow with different combinations of vortexes in gas turbine combustion system. Keywords: Single-cavity vortex combustor, dual-cavity scramjet combustor, triple swirler combustor, combustion dynamics, dilution holesCite this Article Lathigara Bhavik D, Virani Vinal G.
