Abstract

As a building's height increases, lateral loads have a significant and quickly impact. The sort of lateral system used in high-rise structures has a significant impact on the manner in which the structure is built, and choosing the right lateral structural system is crucial to the structures reaction. Numerous factors, including the system's structural design, cost, sustainability, and material availability, influence the choice. Structure with core wall system, braced frame structure, Steel tube structure with concentric bracings are a few examples of lateral structural systems. The structure's stiffness is provided by the lateral structural systems, which would greatly reduce the lateral displacements. Study and comparison are done on the joint deflection, generated forces. For constructions up to 30 stories, it can be observed that the shear wall system is quite good at withstanding lateral loads; however, for structures higher than 30 stories, the framed tube system outperforms the shear wall system.
