Selection of best natural fiber is multi-criteria decision problem including both quantitative and qualitative criteria. Decision-making problem is the process of finding the best option from all of the feasible alternatives. In this paper, from among multi-criteria models in making complex decision and multiple attribute models for the most preferable choice, technique for order preferences by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) approach has been dealt with. Technique for TOPSIS is the best method to find out the ideal solution of the multi-attribute decision making (MADM) problems. In recent years, TOPSIS has been widely applied to many fields with good results. This time TOPSIS is used to find out the best natural fiber which can be used as an extra reinforcement in concrete on the basis of their performance. This article includes the effective factors like tensile strength, specific gravity, water absorption and modulus of elasticity. The aim is to evaluate the best natural fiber among sisal, coir, bamboo, and hemp using TOPSIS. Then interactions of each alternative are evaluated, using Minitab-16 for the empirical data suited to a polynomial in a multi linear regression analysis. Finally, natural fibers have been graded and selected on the basis of the authors’ methodology method.
