Abstract

Air conditioning systems are very important for keeping the indoors comfortable in both tropical and dry climates. However, the problems and performance standards are very different in these two areas. Tropical areas have high humidity and temperatures that range from moderate to high. Because of this, systems that can control both temperature and humidity levels are needed. On the other hand, dry climates have high temperatures and very little humidity, which makes it even more important to cool things down without losing too much moisture. This study looks at how air conditioning systems work in tropical and dry areas, with a focus on energy efficiency, indoor air quality, and system durability. We look at important solutions such variable refrigerant flow (VRF) systems, evaporative cooling, and desiccant-based dehumidification. The importance of climate-responsive design and clever control systems in improving HVAC performance is also spoken about. The results show that adapting air conditioning methods to different climates can greatly enhance comfort, energy use, and the environment. This study offers pragmatic insights for engineers, architects, and politicians seeking to develop sustainable and efficient cooling solutions adapted to various climatic circumstances.
