Abstract Cooling towers are commonly used to reject heat from condenser water, heat exchanger, and other processing equipment. A cooling tower cools the hot water by a combination of heat and mass transfer. Energy and mass transfer through cooling tower play significant roles in cooling water temperature. Specifically, the work aims to conduct a detailed analysis of the heat and mass transfer processes in a natural draft wet cooling tower, to determine how significant the sensitive parameters effect of heat and mass transfer across a natural draft cooling tower is Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) based optimization of Cooling Tower performance as a function of following process and design variables such droplet diameter, air flow rate, inlet water temperature, nozzles, inlet height of cooling tower etc. A one or half degree Kelvin decrease in water outlet temperature may be equivalent to increase effectiveness 4–8% in natural draft wet cooling tower. So our aim is to reduce cold water temperature and improve the performance of cooling tower. Keywords: Cooling Tower, Performance, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Cite this Article Akashchandra A.
