Abstract Science is universal but technology depends upon local conditions. The world is facing on a large scale, potentially devastating global energy crisis. It has been realized that traditional resource such as oil and gas energy reservoirs cannot meet the rising energy demand. Integrated design is one of the today’s buzzwords in green and sustainable HVAC design approaches and solutions; that are important for achieving good indoor air quality with respect to thermal comfort and energy efficiency. Thermal comfort and good indoor air quality are intricately bound together both in characteristics of the indoor environment and in the way building occupants respond to it. The impacts of indoor environments quality on occupant’s health have strong interactions and, in reality, cannot be separated. An attempt has been made to study the performance of acoustic refrigerator system and also to study the effect at different operating parameters. A small review on the techniques of the desiccant based HVAC application has also been reviewed in this paper. Experimental setup of thermoacoustic refrigeration system is developed using 90 W loudspeaker (Ahuja Make) fixed in a resonance tube with aluminum plug being inserted at the other open end of the resonance tube. Digital thermometers are inserted at uniform lengths for recording the temperature variation along the resonance tube.
