Abstract

Abstract Hydraulic Fracture is the name frequently heard now a day in oil and gas Industry especially in exploiting shale gas Reserves. Hydraulic fracturing fluid is made up of water, sand, and chemicals. In this process a high-pressure fluid (usually chemicals and sand suspended in water) will be pumped with high pressure into the oil and gas bearing zone where it create fractures and increase the permeability of the formation. After fracturing the formation, we will recover the fracture liquid to the surface. Slick water fracturing is the most basic and most common form of well stimulation in unconventional gas Reserves. The fracturing fluid is composed primarily of water and sand (> 98%). Additional chemicals are added to reduce friction, corrosion, bacterial-growth, and provide other benefits during the stimulation process. This process is highly controversial, its environmental impacts include the risks of contaminating ground water, depleting fresh water, degrading air quality. So to minimize or completely avoid this disposal of fracturing fluid which returns back to the surface after fracturing fluid we introduced Cold compressed natural gas instead of water. It is a metacritical phase of natural gas at which it behaves like as dense, cryogenic non- liquid. The process is described in this paper Keywords: Hydraulic fracturing, Slick water, Cold compressed natural gas, cryogenicCite this Article MSN Prasad Reddy, Mofidul Islam.
