Abstract

The goal of this project is to create a single-axis solar tracking system that will work with an IoT monitoring system to maintain solar panel alignment with the Sun for maximum solar energy gathering. Single-axis solar tracking is a method of optimizing the energy output of a solar panel by adjusting its position along a single axis throughout the day in order to maximize their exposure to sunlight. Since many years ago, solar energy has been used to generate electricity. Over the years, conventional technologies have utilized solar energy extensively in the deficiency of other energy sources. The most efficient device for increasing solar panel effectiveness is the solar tracking technology that monitors and follows the trajectory of the sun [1]. The design of the project is classified into two parts. In hardware part consists of Arduino UNO module, WIFI ESP8266 module, solar or Photovoltaic (PV) panel, DC Motor which used to move the panel into the proper orientation, two LDR module for tracing the coordinate of the sun and the software part represents the coding part of IoT monitoring system, an online open source. Then WIFI ESP8266 module is used to synchronized with device and IOT monitoring system. A webpage that serves as a data repository is the IoT t racking system. So, the authors observed, an automatic solar monitoring device is more dependable and effective than a stationary one. So, the Authors designed and developed the performance-based approach on single axis solar tracking with static based solar panel and dual axis solar tracking in IoT mode. Along with analyze the performance of voltage-current, power- voltage characteristics curve using monitoring system.
