Abstract

Smart energy meter has received a lot of attention recently from people all over the world. The design and development of a low-cost IoT energy monitoring system is discussed in this work. It can be used for a range of tasks, including power billing, data analysis, covering, managing energy on the smart grid, and home automation. The system is based on a low-cost ESP32 microcontroller, which is connected to a Current Sensor (CT) transformer through Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, and measured power is communicated to a Blynk app via the internet. The results of the study shown that the energy consumption tracking system can accurately record voltage, current, active power, and accretive electrical consumption. This study suggests a smartphone-based Blynk-based wireless energy meter monitoring device. This smart energy meter's ESP32 Wi-Fi module caused it to crash. The Internet of Things (IoT) can also be used in the future as an operation of artificial intelligence (AI) into a homemade device, transitioning to an automated device comparable to a smart meter that assists the smart metropolises to have an efficient energy operation system as a new idea.
