A review gave the context of effect of pollution from plastic on humans, animals and environmental health. Plastic is becoming an environmental calamity. The majority of research has been done till date on effect of plastic pollution on marine ecosystem is a Centre of attention. Discharge and dumping of plastic waste into the rivers and oceans have increased in recent years. In 2015, 55% waste was discarded and only 20% was recycled. However almost few studies have been reported on the submerged macro plastic, which plays a very important role in transportation of mismanaged plastic waste. Also, in this present scenario of COVID-19, the condition of pollution due to plastic is getting terrible. All the macroplastic and microplastic waste such as gloves, masks, cotton swabs, toy balloons, drinking straws and other personal equipment’s is sharply increasing. In next decades it may be possible to divert the plastic waste by various ways such as landfills and increased recyclization process.
