Design And Implementation Of An IoT Based Energy Management And Monitoring Scheme

Abstract

This research presents a feasible design for a home energy monitoring system that offers consumers a platform to monitor and keep track of energy usage via “Ubidots” The system was implemented using a current transformer and an ESP8266 Wi-Fi module. This system doesn't necessitate the replacement of the energy meter, but was integrated with an already installed energy meter to benefit the consumer.  For the development and deployment of this system, Internet of Things offers a framework. The real-time data that reflects values, Current, Power, and unit consumed will be fetched from the meter and uploaded on the ‘Ubidots’ IoT cloud platform to help users adjust against unnecessary energy consumption.
